Avoiding danger is no safer

in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable.

欣赏
海伦·凯勒(Helen Keller,1880~1968)，美国盲聋女作家、教育家、慈善家、社会活动家。她凭借坚强的意志考入哈佛大学，成为世界上第一个完成大学教育的盲聋人。她致力于为残疾人造福，建立慈善机构，曾被美国《时代周刊》评为20世纪百大英雄偶像(100 Heroes and Icons of the 20th Century)之一，荣获总统自由勋章(Presidential Medal of Freedom)。其代表作为我们所熟知的《假如给我三天光明》(Three Days to See)。
记得美剧《越狱》(Prison Break)里，男主角迈克尔·斯科菲尔德(Michael Scofield)有一句经典台词：“Just have a little faith”。剧中，迈克尔历尽艰险，营救被关押在Fox River监狱的哥哥。现实中，海伦不屈不挠，自救于那个无声、无光的囹圄。海伦的故事在中国可谓妇孺皆知，她的坚强不屈和斗志昂扬在这首诗中展露无遗。而本诗题目中所说的信仰，就是不向命运低头的意志力，是面对困难顽强拼搏的进取心。
