Home Repair and Golden Rules

Alison: OK. The guy told me this product will help maintain the perm until I’ve grown it out.
Sarah: ①And if all else fails, we can use a straightening iron to restore it to how it used to look…well, as best we can.
Alison: And these hair clips are nice, don’t you think?
Sarah: I think they work. Whatever takes the focus off the
  1)frizz, I approve of.
Alison: I’m never going to a hairdressers again. I’ve been scarred for life.
Sarah: There’s no need to be like that. You just need to find the right salon for you. Ask around and get recommendations from your friends. You can’t just pick a salon at random. And you don’t need that fancy one with their expensive products. Plus, you need to follow the Golden Rules.
  Alison: Rules?
Sarah: Yeah, you know. Take in photos of the hairstyle you want to give them an idea of how it should look. Of course it’s not going to look exactly the same, but be prepared in
  some way.
Alison: You’re right. He really caught me by surprise. ②I went into it blind. And I was a bit emotional that day as well.
Sarah: That’s another rule: ③never get your hair done when you are in an off mood. You have to go in with a clear head so ④they don’t give you something you don’t want…(pointing at her hair) case in point.
Alison: OK, we have established it’s a train wreck. You can drop it now.
Sarah: On your first trip, you shouldn’t get anymore than a trim. ⑤Just so you can test the waters and get a feel for the hairdresser. No 2)drastic changes on the first trip! You have to build a 3)rapport first. And check the price list beforehand.
Alison: I’ve learned my lesson. So, can you recommend a salon to me for next time?
Sarah: Yes, you should use my hairdresser. Then you can look as good as me!
