Uruguay has pushed back the kickoff time for the first leg of the World Cup qualifier against Australia to 9pm local time on November 12, Football Federation Australia (FFA) said yesterday.
Australian media has speculated the kickoff had been moved to ensure the Socceroos would be unable to make commercial flights out of Montevideo to Australia after the match. FFA had earlier denied a request by the Uruguayans to move the match at Estadio Centenario to November 11 to allow the teams an extra day off for the long trip from South America.
