News Japan ready to stop its China aid      JAPAN is likely to end its official development assistance (ODA) to China, Japanese foreign minister Nobutaka Machimura said last Friday. Japan started providing development assistance to China in 1979. By the 1990s, Japan had begun adjusting its China assistance policy, and it cut the amount by 2000. Wu Dawei, China's vice foreign minister, said the move would not affect China-Japan relations.
